Each suppository caplet is 3000mg with approximately 600mg of vitamin C which may be too high for some individuals for a start. It could be irritating to the bowl because all of it will be absorbed in fewer than 5 minutes, then base will induce quick bowl movement urge. We suggest; cut into half, or into 3 parts. Use one piece per day, then step up over days to weeks. Dip the suppository in olive oil or Vaseline before inserting. Using too high milligrams for new starter may irritate the rectum. Absorption is usually completed in 5 to 10 minutes of insertion before bowel movement feelings.
Suppositories provide very similar results to IV methods of administration since the ingredients in the suppository are absorbed by the wall of the rectum and carried straight into the systemic circulation (circumventing the entero-hepatic portal system where ingredients are broken down).
